Braden's
Fine Furniture store has been a Knoxville institution for over 50
years.
What started out as a wholesale furniture distributor is now Knoxville’s
premier furniture destination. Opened in 1956 by Mr. McKinley Braden,
under the name Wholesale Furniture Dealer’s Supply Inc, began as
a distributor to dealers and interior designers in a 5 state area.
The Braden family quickly established their place in bringing quality
home furnishings to East Tennessee and surrounding areas at discount
wholesale prices.
In 1973 Braden’s expanded to a 100,000 square foot location on Western
Avenue in Downtown Knoxville and changed their name to Braden’s
Wholesale Furniture.
Due to high public demand, Braden’s evolved to sell furniture direct
to the consumer. In 1992 the store was renamed the now famous Braden’s
Fine Furniture and Interiors. The success of the downtown store
prompted the opening of an additional location, Braden’s Lifestyles
in Turkey Creek in 2004.
Today, the company is proud to have Gary Braden, the second generation
of Braden’s, who has been at the helm since 1977. According to Gary,”We
are blessed to have so much such success with our store here in
Knoxville. We look forward to many more years of serving our community
and bringing East Tennessee fine, quality furniture at the lowest
possible prices.”
Gary Braden graduated from The University of Tennessee in 1977.
While at school, Gary was a proud member of UT Football team as
a defensive back. The entire Braden’s family are Southern Baptists
and are dedicated serving members of several area Baptist Churches.
And with 3 new grandchildren, Gary and Karen are excitedly preparing
for the 4th generation of Braden’s to carry on the Braden’s Fine
Furniture Family Tradition. |
